PUBLISHING: Eric Huang is Publishing Director at Penguin books. His degree in palaeontology didn’t turn him into an Indiana Jones for dinosaurs. Instead, he travelled the world as a licensed publishing professional working with brands/companies. Eric says, “This is such an exciting time to be in kid’s media. My ambition is to partner with like-minded people to make some really cool stuff.” His specialties are licensed publishing, trend-spotting, licensing, brand management, new business development, digital publishing, digital storytelling. Francesca is currently MD of the Penguin Children’s division which comprises Puffin, Ladybird, Frederick Warne and our licensing media and entertainment imprint Sunbird and BBC Children’s Books. Before that she was MD of Puffin for nearly nine years and before that she ran Orchard Books at Hachette. Children’s books are what she has always been interested in: how to find good enough stories to get kids reading and loving stories.
